My Victorian Style Obsession
I recently just finished watching the show Reign on Netflix, which I highly recommend if you are into period dramas. The incredible clothing and costumes have been inspiring me to add a little more victorian flair to my style. Luckily I already had the perfect emerald green dress that I bought from Zara last year. I no longer shop at clothing brands like Zara after I watched the documentary True Cost and learned how unethical these companies operate. But Zara does have some unique styles that are hard to find anywhere else. Like this dress. The maxi length, the color, and the victorian style collar, and delicate buttons really make this dress irresistible.
Where to Wear this Outfit
This is such an elegant dress for fall. I picture going to a play or musical in this outfit. But it would be especially gorgeous for the holiday season. I always like having a few fancy dresses suitable for the holidays in my closet. It’s good to be prepared for all the holiday parties. And the holiday season will be here before we know it. Just a few more months away.

Tartan Scarves
Whenever fall comes back around my obsession for all things tartan and plaid starts to kick in again. I really love tartan everything even accessories like scarves, hats, and bags. An extra-large blanket scarf is especially useful as the weather gets colder. Last week when the snowstorm started to blow in, in the mountains, I found this item especially cozy.
Mary Queen of Scotts Vibes
I also love how the tartan sets the tone with the emerald dress. It really makes the outfit look like something a more modern Mary Queen of Scotts would wear like on the show Reign. I know I am such a dork but I really get obsessed when I watch a period tv show or movie. I can never get over the clothes. One day I would love to start designing clothing that is similar to what I see in the movies. Some styles are impossible to find, and I want to fix that.

Find some of my favorite tartan scarves below. Most importantly, I highly suggest sticking with real wool that is recycled, second hand, or ethically sourced whenever possible. These are the kinds of scarves that will keep you extra toasty for a lifetime. Then, I highly recommend buying a few different colorways that you can wear with your fall and winter wardrobe. I like having a neutral one ( I just found the perfect one at a local My Best Friends Closet.) I also like to have a few others that go with my favorite colors. Currently, I am on the hunt for one in a lovely shade of orange. What is your favorite way to wear plaid and tartan this time of year?
